Our mission: Provide consulting services to Tribes, Tribal Organizations and Indigenous-led organizations to help these organizations thrive.
Dawn Winalski has extensive experience working with and on behalf of Indigenous communities. She understands federal Indian law, Tribal law and the unique system for Alaska Native communities. Living in Utqiagvik, Alaska, she worked for one of the largest municipalities (by land area) in the United States. She worked with Alaska Native communities and leadership to protect their rights to economic development and self-determination, including cultural and subsistence hunting practices, environmental justice, general municipal law and elections. She worked in state, federal and international arenas. She traveled to Sochi, Russia, to defend subsistence hunting rights.
She continued her advocacy work at Hobbs Straus, where she advised Tribes and Tribal organizations around the country with an emphasis on Alaska Native communities, Tribes in the Pacific Northwest, and on Tribal health care. She also continued working with Alaska Native communities in solo practice at Winalski Law LLC.
