Attorney Well-being

Well-being is challenging in the best of times. And right now, with the Rule of Law under attack, attorney well-being is especially important. As an attorney in recovery and someone who has struggled with mental health challenges in the past, I am always happy to chat.

As you think about well-being, it’s important to address all the areas of attorney well-being: Occupational, Emotional, Intellectual, Social, Physical and Spiritual. This might include physical practices like yoga and walks, and it also includes music, learning something new, arts and crafts, volunteering, finding a purpose, and connecting with neighbors.

There are a lot of good resources to support attorney well-being.

If you need immediate assistance, please call 988 or other crisis hotline.

Your state attorney assistance program may also have folks on call to help. (We are so fortunate in Oregon to have the OAAP.)
